The pillow I couldn't find, so I built it myself.
Hi, I'm Sophie.
I'm a mum of two, and for ten years I worked as a product manager, building everyday things and testing them until they actually worked. So I knew a good product when I saw one. What I didn't know was that my own son was sleeping on a bad one every night.
He snored. He slept with his mouth open. He woke up tired, with little shadows under his eyes. Everyone told me he'd grow out of it.
What I found stopped me cold
So I started reading, and found what sleep specialists have known for years but no parent ever hears: the way a child breathes at night doesn't just affect their sleep, it shapes their face. Mouth open, head tilted back, night after night, right through the years their features are still forming.
I'd assumed you sorted this out later, at the orthodontist. Turns out most of it was being decided now, while my son slept on an ordinary adult pillow that pushed his head into the wrong position.
So I built it myself
This part I knew how to do. Eighteen months, paediatric sleep dentists, a foam factory, and a lot of late nights. Dozens of prototypes, most of them wrong. Too high. Too soft. Wrong angle. Until one finally worked: a three-zone pillow that kept my son's head aligned and his mouth closed all night.
I tested it on my own two before I ever sold it to anyone else.
That's how Nubo started. Just a mum who built the thing she couldn't find, and refused to settle for less.
Today it's trusted by over 30,000 families across the UK, and it still comes back to that first promise I made at my own children's bedside: a pillow built to protect the face they'll grow into.
